Import settings

AuthCop can import extra school information that Microsoft Entra doesn't have, such as each student's house, year level, home group and campus, your classes, and caregivers. You can import automatically from your student management system, or upload CSV files by hand.

Who can use this page: Global Administrator.

The Import Settings page, with the Import Source list, the Enabled switch and the Synergetic settings.

What an import changes

An import adds to the users that are already in AuthCop. It doesn't create or delete students or staff; those come from SCIM.

DataWhat happens
StudentsEach student's house, year level, home group and campus are updated. Students are matched by External ID or username (UPN).
StaffEach staff member's External ID is filled in, matched by username (UPN), if it is empty.
ClassesClasses are added or updated.
Class students and class staffThe list of students and staff in each class is rebuilt from the import.
CaregiversCaregivers are added or updated, and each student's caregiver links are rebuilt. Caregivers missing from the import are marked inactive.

Rows with a problem, such as a missing value or an ID that doesn't match anyone, are skipped and listed in the Import Logs. The rest of the import still goes ahead.

Automatic imports

  1. Choose the Import Source: Synergetic or Wonde.
  2. Turn on Enabled.
  3. For Synergetic, enter the Client ID, Client Secret and URL from your Synergetic administrator.
  4. Select Save.
Wonde

Wonde has to be turned on for your school by AuthCop first. If it isn't, you'll see a message asking you to contact us.

Manual upload

You can start an import at any time by uploading CSV files. Select Manual Upload here or on the Import Logs page.

  1. Select Manual Upload.
  2. Choose all six CSV files at once. The file names must match exactly.
  3. Check each file shows Selected. Missing files show Missing.
  4. Select Upload Files. The progress bar shows each file being uploaded.
  5. When you see "Import started successfully", select Close.

Only one import can run at a time. If one is already running, you'll be asked to wait.

The Manual Upload window, listing the six required CSV files with their upload status.

CSV file formats

Each file needs a header row with these column names. Columns marked required must have a value, or the row is skipped.

All six files are required. If you have no data for one of them, upload a file with only the header row.

warning

Uploading a caregivers.csv with no caregiver rows marks all your existing caregivers as inactive.

How this affects the rest of AuthCop

  • Student details show on the Users page and can be used to filter Teacher MFA Requests.
  • Classes power My classes only on the Classes and Teacher MFA Requests pages.
  • Caregivers appear on the Caregivers page. (Preview)
  • Imports don't change who can sign in.
