Blocked countries

Sign-ins from a country on this list are always blocked, for every user. This is checked before any access policy, and even a student with an approved travel plan for that country can't sign in from it.

Who can use this page: MFA Policy Manager or Global Administrator.

The Blocked Countries page, with a warning message and a list of blocked countries and their continents.

Block a country

  1. Select Add Countries.
  2. Choose one or more countries.
  3. Select Save.

A message confirms the list was updated.

Unblock a country

  1. Select the X next to the country.
  2. Select Save.

Changes are not kept until you select Save. Select Cancel to leave without saving.

How this affects sign-in

  • A student signing in from a blocked country is stopped straight away. The Sign-in Logs show the sign-in as unsuccessful.
  • When the list is empty, sign-ins are allowed or blocked by your access policies alone.
  • The list reaches the sign-in page shortly after you save.
  • For safety, if AuthCop can't read your blocked countries list, it blocks all sign-ins until it can.
